Tondodeck

Carbon fiber / epoxy pultruded solid round rods

Description Applications Benefits

Carbon fiber with epoxy matrix pultruded solid round rods. These rods have the surface with rough finish (for bonding), protected by a removable film. They can be utilised in substitution of steel rebar in corrosive environments, as well as for structural anchoring of concrete or tuff walls.

  • Structural reinforcements
  • Tri-dimensional anchoring
  • Anchoring type “Ardfix” for composite rods
  • Anchoring of several types of structures
  • Micro anchoring of valuable plaster works
  • Anchoring of wood structures

  • Extremely light.
  • Very small plate dimensions.
  • Ease of handling.
  • No corrosion.
  • Very high tensile strength.
  • No maintenance
  • No production limits for required lengths.
  • No joints necessary.

Instruction for use

Reinforcement with Tondodeck rods can substitute utilisation of steel rebars with the only exception where curving and bending of the rods is required. Therefore, application of carbon fiber rebars is limited typically to flexural applications. The anchoring is performed by drilling a hole with traditional drilling equipment with dimension and lengths as per designed, the hole is then cleaned by air or water jets (the latter for mortar cement filling).Next the rd must be cut in the required length, the protection film must be removed and the bar is introduced into the hole.
Next the two components of the epoxy system must be mixed according to instructions and must injected taking care to exhaust the air from the far end of the hole.
